Now that you know what the styles are and you have identified with one or some of them, you can maintain your essence even if the event dictates some rules. It is common to think that the rule is to wear a dress or a suit, but there are some rules. We will tell you what they are so that you never feel out of place on a special occasion:
- Strict etiquetteOn some occasions, it is necessary to wear a tailcoat, which is a special suit with a vest that is very different from a tuxedo and much more formal. It is usually used in special ceremonies or is usually the suit of the groom and his family. The most common is to wear a tuxedo. In these outfits there is not much to change, depending on the event you could choose to vary the typical black color for any other, although this is very risky, it looks less out of place at celebrity events. If you want to stand out without attracting too much attention, you can wear a navy blue tuxedo. For women, a long dress is generally worn, it is recommended to avoid low-cut tops due to the level of formality. It is also recommended to wear dark colors such as black, navy blue and purple. However, red, gold and silver are also good options. Hair, makeup and jewelry are very important at events with strict etiquette.
- EtiquetteIn the case of etiquette, we can be a little more free regarding clothing and colors. You can wear a tuxedo or a suit, the bow tie or tie should not be strictly black. You can make different combinations according to your style. The same applies to women, they can wear a simple hairstyle, less jewelry, etc.
- FormalThis is usually for daytime events or corporate events. In the case of daytime events, the tones should be light or warm. Suits and long dresses are also worn. For corporate events, suits are worn by both men and women, and for women, it can be with trousers or a skirt. It is also possible to wear a short dress without a neckline. Heels should always be worn.
- Cocktail partyAt this type of event, men can forget about the tie if they prefer, but suits are also worn. Women can opt for short, simple dresses.
- Formal Guayabera Dress CodeThis dress code is especially suited for events in warmer climates. Very cool fabrics such as linen are used. Men wear guayabera-style shirts, which can be long or short sleeved, accompanied by light-colored pants. Loafers can be worn. Women should wear short dresses in bright colors, always very formal.
